You do get sunsets in urban London. This one was an HDR composite, with a little mist added for more interest

160:365 Bright day.
Very difficult to get slow shutter speeds for movement. (am obsessed by movement and flare at the moment), so had to overexpose this in a big way, and bring it all back into line in PP. And had to add sky and flare as it got lost in the highlights.
The VR of the 70-300 really comes into play here. There is not many lens you can shoot at 1/10 sec at 70mm and still get a sharp image.

Had a visit to the house of Lords yesterday, and was guided by Lord Anthony St John of Bletso. Fascinating! Wonderful architecture and history.

Did you know that…”Toe the line”, came from parliament, and was the term that required members who had transgressed the rules, had to put their toe on the line and apologise to parliament.

Similar expressions like “In the bag” and “Stabbed in back”, meaning that if you got your petition into the bag behind the chancellor, then there was a good chance that it would go through, and the last reference was where a member stabbed another in the back with his sword (yes they wore swords in those days). Nowadays there is a line between opposing parties that is exactly 2 sword lengths apart.

Gone underground, originally uploaded by NorrisTudor.
Travelled today. Took this at St Pancras tube before boarding the Eurostar.
This was a 1 second exposure, with some post processing done with GIMP and Lab Colour
